This is an amazing opportunity and we hope you'll join us. Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia was founded in 1838, at the mouth of the Guadelete River in the Bay of Cadiz, at El Puerto de Santa Maria. The dry winds of the Levante mixing with moisture coming from the Atlantic provide a perfect setting to create amazing wines. To capture this environmental confluence, the regional bodegas are built like cathedrals, with large ceilings and archways to help circulate the air, moisture, and yeasts which help to create the flor.
Being located right on the Guadelete River, Bodegas Gutierrez Colosia is the closest producer to the sea. Additionally, they are one of the last family owned and operated sherry producers, as the history of the region has been about consolidation and outside ownership groups. This makes Gutierrez Colosia special, as they are a testament to independent winemakers, crafting products with finesse, care and passion.
